Hi parents and grandparents,
We had quite the contrast in weather this week. One day we hiked down to the river and painted watercolors, the next day we are drinking hot chocolate by the firepit!
The children finished their stuffed bobcats and each gave their bobcat a name for their happy birthday song. We reviewed what we had learned about the species and also the children,s list of questions. There are only a couple we still need to research the answers to. After watching a short documentary on the bobcats, we read the bucket book, and discussed filling the kindness bucket or being a bucket dipper. This was a lively discussion with lots of ideas of filling a bucket.
The children discovered some transparent ice and used it as magnifying glasses. We also studied the perfect snowflakes that began falling. We could observe them when viewed on dark clothing .
Next week we will begin our raptor unit and hopefully do some sledding. Please send your child to school with a sled and helmet.
Happy outdoor exploring !
