Hi parents and grandparents,
The paving of route 10 prevented our class from venturing to the campsite however we had fun exploring the meadow. The children assembled a shelter using a tripod frame. Was wonderful to observe the cooperate play and teamwork to make this happen. We observed birds with the binoculars , painted in journals and flew with the butterfly wings.
The turtle project is wrapping up. Back by popular demand we watched the snapping turtle documentary, one on the Blanding turtle and also how the painted turtle winters.
The children will be bringing home their turtles this week after a photo opt.
Please check your child/ grandchild,s cubby for odds and ends, artwork and clothes. Also if you have borrowed any HCNS clothing please return, we may need it for summer camp.
The year has flown by and it has been wonderful working with your child and grandchildren. This class was flexible, respectful and up for adventures thanks to your hard work at home. Because of this we were able to do more hiking this year than ever.
I will miss all the children who will be attending kindergarten. Please stop by and visit this coming fall.
Happy outdoor exploring,
Giovanna, Sandy and Erika
