This week our curriculum focused on kindness and ways to make yourself and others feel good.
On Monday, we reconnected as a school community and help remind each other about ways to show kindness within our classroom...for example...kind words spoken while getting our own needs met...kind actions with our bodies...entering in to group play and allowing others into your play. I am happy to report that our Kindness Jar is over half way filled already!
On Wednesday, we read a story called The Mitten Tree. This story showed how to be a good community member and fill other’s hearts with love. We also made clay and paper mittens in preparation for creating our own mitten tree.
On Thursday, Phin brought in a book to share called Extra Yarn. Your children seemed to enjoy this story as well and I feel like it is a great read for adults as well. If only adults in today society were like the main character in the book!
Check out our Mitten Tree...
I hope everyone is having a relaxed weekend.
