Applications are now being accepted for the 2017-2018 school year. For more information and to schedule a visit call Director Meg O'Leary at 603-643-4640.
Applicants for the 2-day class must be 3 years old by December 31, 2017. Children who turn 2 years 8 months old after the start of the school year, are eligible to enroll at that time. Children enrolled in the 2-day class may go on to either the 3-day or 4-day class the following year, depending on their age.
Applicants for the 3-day class must be 3 years old by June 30, 2017. Children enrolled in this class may go on to either the 4-day class or to kindergarten the following year.
Applicants for the 4-day Morning class must be age-appropriate for kindergarten in their own school districts for 2018-2019 school year.
Applicants for the Afternoon class should be 3 to 5 years old.
All applications for the 2017-2018 school year must be mailed to the Registrar, Brigette Cameron. A non-refundable $25 application fee must accompany the application.
Top priority for placement is given to currently enrolled students, followed by siblings of currently enrolled students or alumni. New students will be welcome into all classes in which we have openings. In the event that applications exceed our capacity, students will be chosen by lottery. Due dates for applications are as follows:
Upon acceptance of a position in one of our morning or afternoon preschool classes, we require a non-refundable payment of $200. (If you enroll your child in the morning and afternoon programs, the total deposit is $300.) The deposits will be deducted from your overall tuition. A check, made out to HCNS, should be sent by mail to the Registrar. For those children accepted in the first application period, the check must be postmarked no later than February 12, 2017. Balance for one full quarter's tuition must be paid in full by July 1, 2017, or upon acceptance into the program if registering after July 1, 2017.
Note: The $25 registration fee and $200 preschool deposit payments are non-refundable.
If our program fills and your child cannot be enrolled, your child will be placed on a waiting list unless you request otherwise.
Parents and guardians in a cooperative school participate more fully in their child's first school experience than is frequently allowed. The degree of involvement can range from restrained to heroic, depending upon time and interest. Our main requirement is that one of the parents (or another adult member of the household) be present in the classroom several times during the school year. This ranges from 6-7 times a year for the 2-day class to 11-12 times a year for the 4-day morning class. We ask that parents help the classroom teacher supervise and interact with the children, provide healthy snacks, and share the adventures of the school day. Unlike our morning classes, the Afternoon Preschool Program is not run as a cooperative with Helping Parents. A teacher's assistant helps the regular afternoon teacher in the classroom. Each family must also serve on one of our committees, and participate in fundraising events.
In certain situations, where the helping parent days may be difficult or overwhelming (i.e., families with twins or newborns), we offer a buy-out option at a higher tuition rate. If you would like more information about this option, please talk to the director.
Below you will find our 2017-2018 year tuition. Tuition is subject to an increase of up to 5% for the following school year. Tuition can be paid quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Tuition includes field trips and certain enrichment events.
Early drop-off costs an additional $5 per day.
Itemized per day (cost of lunch not included)
HCNS is everything we ever dreamed a preschool could be, and then some. Not only has it been a nurturing, safe, and loving place for our kids to play, learn, and grow, but also it has been a huge part of our lives as parents. The sense of community we feel with the staff and families here at HCNS is truly unique and an everyday blessing.Katie and Dave
